Wirework Wading Bird Sculpture Workshop

Saturday 9 September, 10.30am – 4pm, £80 / Members £60

Wirework Bird

Wirework specialist Carol Sterritt introduces the practical techniques involved in creating wirework sculptures for the home and garden. Coinciding with our Heritage weekend, this workshop is inspired by our resident Heron, who can often be found in the weir outside the gallery.

Sterritt's wire garden sculptures are made from galvanised chicken wire and therefore do not rust; they are suitable for inside or out and last for many years. They can be sprayed with a metal spray paint if other colours are desired.

Wirework sculpture has been around since the ancient Egyptian era and in the 20th Century became popular in a range of artistic practices.
