Celebrate the Tour de Yorkshire at The Hepworth Wakefield

On Sun 3 May the Tour de Yorkshire will be racing past the gallery garden to give spectators one of the best views of the race.

To celebrate the Tour, we're inviting you to join us for a day of FREE family fun, live music, pop-up art activities, street theatre and outdoor art activities. 

To kick-start the celebrations, Leeds-based band Hope & Social and their 50 brand new band members will begin their Tour de Yorkshire ‘Blunder Bus’ journey at The Hepworth Wakefield.

As some of the events are outside please come prepared for all types of weather!

About The Tour de Yorkshire

The Tour de Yorkshire is a new international cycle race that will be one of the biggest cycle races in the UK in 2015.  An outstanding event in the international cycling calendar, with some of the top international teams taking part and a women’s race on Sat 2 May, it will be broadcast live on TV in the UK and throughout Europe.

The Tour de Yorkshire is expected to cycle over Wakefield Bridge and past The Hepworth Wakefield at approx. 12.15pm. Due to road closures, it is advisable to get to the gallery by 11am at the latest. The gallery will open at the earlier time of 9am. Road closures will be managed by the police and announced nearer the race weekend at letour.yorkshire.com
