We are celebrating National Teaching Assistants Day (16 September 2017) at The Hepworth Wakefield, come and join us!

3:30 - 5pm

Practical artist-led Painting and Colour workshop for primary teaching assistants inspired by Howard Hodgkin: Painting India, focusing on how to support a creative curriculum.

5 - 6.30pm

Open conversation suitable for teachers across subjects from EYFS to KS5, teaching assistants, NQTs and those interested in arts education to discuss the role of museum and galleries in today’s educational climate.

Confirmed panel members include Simon Wallis (Director, The Hepworth Wakefield), Lesley Butterworth (General Secretary of NSEAD and Chair of Engage), Henry Ward (Creative Director at Freelands Foundation), Anne-Louise Quinton (Art & Design teacher, Dixons City Academy, Bradford) and Professor Abigail Harrison Moore (University of Leeds, Head of School, School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies ) and Faz Islam (Headteacher at St.Michael's Academy).

*Cancellation Terms

In the event of cancellation, you should contact the Learning Team in writing, either by post or email. If you notify us of the cancellation of your booking less than 14 days before the event (or any part thereof), including failure to turn up on the day, you will incur a charge of £10 per place cancelled.

We reserve the right to cancel any booking in the event of the gallery being unexpectedly closed, e.g. due to extreme weather conditions.
