Summer Family Activites

Every day, 21 July – 31 August, FREE

Family carving workshop

There's plenty of free fun this summer holiday at The Hepworth Wakefield. Take part in creative workshops, or grab a family trail and discover the new exhibitions and displays with friends and family.

Look out for our Art Pods, located in the galleries throughout the holidays, and make something inspired by your favourite works of art.

Little ones can let off steam in the gallery's riverside play area, with climbing areas, swings and a zip wire. There's a picnic area, shop and on-site cafe serving a delicious children's menu.

The gallery and our activities for families can be busy during school holidays and weekends. To help us facilitate an enjoyable experience for all of our visitors we ask that GROUPS of 10 or more children let us know when they plan to visit by contacting or calling 01924 247398.

Groups of 10 or more children will be divided into smaller groups of 5 with 1 adult, and can rotate around the activities taking place that day. This will ensure there is enough space for individual families to participate in the activities. There's plenty of activities for groups to participate in on each day of the school holidays, so there is always something to do.

To discuss your visit further and for advice on what activities are available, please contact our learning team by calling 01924 247398 or email
