Concrete Casting

Join Wakefield-based artist Jessica Kendall for a two day introduction to creating household design objects with concrete.

You will be introduced to the properties of concrete and the process involved in working with it, Jessica will guide you through casting shapes from a selection of moulds including fruitbowls, planters and vases, or one of your own choosing.

You will experiment with different finishes, textures and colours to develop your own style and create objects to take home.

This workshop will be messy, please wear old clothes. All safety equipment will be provided.

About the tutor

Jessica Kendall studied at Chelsea College of Art and Design and Leeds College of Art, and now works from her studio at The Art House, Wakefield. Her work crosses contemporary sculpture, jewellery design and homeware. She recently presented a solo exhibition Cataclysm at Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, Leeds, and a selection of her concrete candle holders will soon be stocked in The Hepworth Wakefield shop.
