Fashion Styling and Art Direction
Saturday 3 June 2017, 11am – 3pm, £50 / Members £37.50
Work with fashion stylist Helen McGuckin for an introduction to the intersecting fields of fashion styling, art direction, design and photography.
Taking inspiration from our exhibition Disobedient Bodies: JW Anderson curates The Hepworth Wakefield, McGuckin will be joined by experienced fashion photographer Lucie Crewdson to guide you through designing and creating concepts for a shoot in response to a collection.
Starting with an introduction to their work and an insider’s view of working in the industry, McGuckin and Crewdson will talk through the processes involved in producing a shoot, from considering styles and references within garments, to experimenting with materials, improvising adjustments to garments and creating sets and concepts. You will then experiment with toiles, kalikos, jersey Tshirts and assorted materials and the body to style your own look.
This workshop is aimed at anyone with an interest in the fields of fashion, design, photography, art direction and set design; no prior experience is necessary.
£50 / Members £37.50
Half of the allocated places are offered to Members at the discounted rate of 25% off, sold on a first come, first served basis. Become a member.
