Take a trip to The Hepworth Wakefield this Easter to see world class art, including our major exhibition Disobedient Bodies: JW Anderson curates The Hepworth Wakefield, exploring the human figure in fashion, art and design.

Plus over the holidays we are putting on a range of special seasonal events for everyone to enjoy.

Spring Market

Sat 8 and Sun 9 April, 10am - 5pm, free entry
Start the Easter holidays with a visit to our Spring Market, featuring stalls selling textiles, ceramics, jewellery, homewares, seasonal produce and more - plus street food, live music and free family activities.

Adult Workshops

Spring Wreath Making Workshop
Sat 8 and Sat 15 April, 2 - 4pm

£25 / Members £18.75
Work with florist Lizzie Simpson of In-a-Gadda-da-Vida Flowers to make a moss-based wreath decorated with seasonal fresh flowers and foliage to decorate your home this spring.

Join Leilah Vyner of Dragon Willow to learn sculptural techniques with natural materials and create a free-standing, woven Easter chicken.

Courses for children and young people

Arts Award Fashion School for 12 - 16 year olds
Mon 10, Tues 11, Weds 12, Thurs 13 April, 10.30am - 3pm

£200 for four sessions, all materials included
Calling all budding fashion designers. Join textile Karen Logan to design and make your own fashion masterpiece and achieve a nationally recognised Bronze Arts Award qualification. Participants will discover the artworks and garments in our exhibition Disobedient Bodies: JW Anderson curates The Hepworth Wakefield and try out a variety of creative textile techniques including printing, felt making, sewing and embroidery.

Arts Award Explore for 7 - 11 year olds
Tues 18, Wed 19, Thurs 20 & Fri 21 April, 10.30am - 3pm 

£150 for four sessions, all materials included
Join artist Kate Morgan to create your own masterpiece and achieve a nationally recognised Explore Arts Award qualification. Study the sculptures, craft and fashion pieces in our exhibition Disobedient Bodies: JW Anderson curates The Hepworth Wakefield, while back in the learning studio experiement with a variety of materials and creative techniques including printmaking, photography, Photoshop and digital image manipulation.

Opening times

The gallery is open 10am - 5pm every day throughout the Easter holidays, including Good Friday, Easter Sunday and Mondays 3, 10 and 17 April.
