A newly commissioned dance performance featuring three dancers by choreographer, dancer, photographer and founder of Mode & Motion, Jack Thomson. The new piece has been produced in response to JW Anderson designs and the architecture of the exhibition and will be performed at intervals throughout the day.
Born in York and trained at Rambert, Jack Thomson approaches choreography as ‘fashion imagery in motion.’ A professional dancer, photographer and choreographer, his disciplines intersect and inform one another to create a unique vision and style focused on the body and its ability to express.
Thomson further explores the synergy between fashion and dance as co-editor of online publication Mode & Motion, the home of Dance Fashion Collaboration. aim to capture and incorporate my own direct understanding of dance and choreography into my photography, whilst simultaneously exporting my photographic knowledge of fashion, composition and story into my choreography.
Thomson has danced for Phoenix Dance Theatre, English National Opera, and Inala featuring Lady Smith Black Mambazo. He has danced for international fashion designer Issey Miyake and British fashion brand Jigsaw.
