The Hepworth Wakefield has its own car park is located on Thornes Lane, WF1 5QJ (please note there is a 2.5m height restriction). There are 77 spaces plus space for motorcycles, bicycles and disabled spaces. The car park is operated on a pay and display system and accepts payments by coins and credit / debit cards:
£5.00 9am – 6pm for a maximum 5 hour stay
£2.00 5.30 – 9pm flat rate
FREE 5.30 – 9pm every third Thursday of the month
Blue badge holders can park for free outside the main entrance accessible via Gallery Walk, sat nav: WF1 5AW.

The car park offers both long and short stay and is situated adjacent to Wakefield Westgate train station (20 minute walk) and is a multi-storey car park with lift access to all floors. Parking charges apply, £13 for long stay per day (rail users) and 60p per hour up to a maximum of 5 hours.

Long stay multi-storey car park in the centre of Wakefield and has 12 accessible parking bays. Parking charges up to a maximum of £5 apply.
Bicycle racks are located in The Hepworth Wakefield car park on Thornes Lane and on site at the disabled parking bays by our main entrance.

The gallery is 0.3 miles from Wakefield Kirkgate train station (approximately 8 minutes walk) and 1 mile from Westgate train station (approximately 20 minutes walk).

The Hepworth Wakefield does not have facilities for coach parking but does have a coach drop off point in Gallery Walk – by prior arrangement only. The nearest pay and display coach park can be found on Quebec Street (WF2 9SA) just 3 minutes’ drive from the gallery in Wakefield City Centre. All coach parties should book their visit in advance.
Free City Bus
The gallery is on the FreeCityBus route operated Monday – Saturday between 9.30am and 3pm. The bus route includes Wakefield Westgate and Kirkgate train stations, Wakefield bus station, Ridings Shopping Centre, Trinity Walk and other city centre drop offs and is every 10 minutes.
The Hepworth Wakefield bus stop is adjacent to the Wakefield Waterfront on A61 Barnsley Road and the gallery. All journeys on the bus are free of charge and each FreeCityBus is accessible and can carry one wheelchair at a time.

QUIETER TIMES TO VISIT
The Hepworth Wakefield welcomes everyone to the gallery. Sometimes this means the galleries can get very busy and noisy, particularly when large groups, school children and students are visiting. If you would prefer to visit during quieter times, we recommend that you plan your visit around local school holidays. The gallery is generally quieter after 3pm during the week and on Friday afternoons.
The Hepworth Wakefield offers the use of 78 individual lockers, if you need to leave any extra luggage whilst you visit the gallery. They are £1 refundable deposit and are used on a first come, first served basis. Please note that the lockers are for public use during gallery opening hours. Lockers are checked by staff at the end of each day and any contents treated in accordance with The Hepworth Wakefield’s Lost Property Policy.
